"Through the power of community, connections and commitment, Social Golf
Australia aims to become Australia's largest interactive network of golfers"

Social Golf Australia aims to build a community of active social golfers through the creation of Australia's largest network of fun and engaging golf events. Working with Golf Australia, we aim to create the opportunity for social golfers to access Australian affiliate golf handicaps and participate in amateur and social golf events. Through the website, we can create a forum to share opinions, ideas, current golf news, course reviews, articles, services and affordable deals on golf equipment.

Our core values are to:

  • Create a community which gives a voice and strength in the market to our members.
  • Provide outstanding member service, advice and representation to ensure all projects, services, events and properties are delivered with 100% commitment and dedication.
  • Create connections of shared opportunities, which will benefit both our members and strategic partners.
  • Build a reputation for reliability, professionalism, credibility and trust.

Social Golf Australia (SGA) is a family business run by golfers for golfers. Founded in 2008 by Matthew and Sally Pitt who own and operate Bushranger Golf (BRG), Australia's largest online social golf club. In 2008, BRG founded the the Victorian Social Golf Club Championships (VSGCC), an official State Championship supported by Golf Australia. However, as players representing BRG entered the event in the inaugural year, it was clear BRG could not be both a club represented by competitors and the event manager of the tournament, so SGA was established as a new golf event management company to run events.

In 2009, SGA acquired the Australian Social Golf Club Championships (ASGCC) that had been founded at Palm Meadows on the Gold Coast in 2005. In 2010 we established The SGA Tour event series offering official golf events in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and SE Queensland. In 2011, we founded the SGA Tour in Adelaide so we have SGA Tours in five States with events that are open to all golfers. Through our partnerships with Golf Clearance Outlet, Heathcote Winery, Edge Loyalty, Srixon, Garmin, RJ Golf Apparel and a range of industry partners, SGA has continued to expand the range of services we have to offer for golfers around Australia.
