A major highlight on the calendar for many of our golfers, the SGA Tasman Classic is a three-day Tasmanian Golf Trip packed with adventure. Tee it up and enjoy Australia’s most spectacular and popular golf courses!

DAY 1
Royal Hobart
Royal Hobart is recognised as Tasmania’s premier members’ Club and particular emphasis is placed on presenting the course in impeccable condition all year round. Royal Hobart has hosted a number of major Championship events over the years including the Tasmanian Open, Australian Amateur, Australian Women’s Amateur and the Qantas Australian Open in 1971 which was won by the legendary Jack Nicklaus.
DAY 2
Tasmania GC
Tasmania Golf Club is a private, picturesque championship 18 hole course that offers an exhilarating blend of strategic play and breathtaking natural beauty. The meticulously designed course stretches across an impressive 6,214 meters, challenging even the most seasoned players. Prepare to be amazed by the course's setting, perched on dramatic headlands that showcase Tasmania's finest panoramic views.
DAY 3
7 Mile Beach
7 Mile Beach is set to become Australia's most spectacular premier golf experience. Opened for public play in December 2025 on dramatic coastal dunes 5km from Hobart Airport, the links layout features ocean views from every hole across natural fescue fairways. Natural sand dunes create distinct playing zones from elevated ridgelines down to sea-level holes where waves break metres from putting surfaces.

Best Western Hobart - In the city centre
Best Western Hobart is ideally located centrally in Hobart’s city – with over 140 spacious rooms showcasing either city skyline, Mount Wellington or Derwent River views. The delicious Embers Bar-Pizza-Grill restaurant on site offers farm to table Tasmanian produce and seafood.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from to Salamanca Place (Australia’s oldest open-air Saturday market) on the historical waterfront, an area well known for its vibrant restaurants, cafes and bars.
2027 SGA Tasman Classic Itinerary
Event Format
The Tasman Classic features a Stableford format over the three rounds of the event with an Order of Merit points system, where, each day, player's scores are ranked from first to last. The points for the three rounds are totalled, and the player(s) with the greatest points are declared the winners.
Trophies are awarded to the grade winner(s) (Depending on field size)
