Tour Championship
The Tour Championship
The Tour Championship is the final event of the SGA Tour season and is intended as a celebration of the year of golf on the SGA Tour. We play a round of golf on a deluxe golf course followed by a presentation dinner where we give out all the major awards for the year. All Tour members and regular players are welcome to enjoy the fun, glamour and excitement of the day.
As an added bonus, an exclusive field of 25 players will compete on the day in a separate event for The Tour Championship title. The top 25 players (plus ties) in the Order of Merit (OOM) who attend will contest for the title. Note that if a player in the top 25 cannot take their place in the field, that place is offered to the first alternate (the 26th player in the OOM plus ties) and so on. Hence, if five of the top 25 do not attend, the Tour Members down to 30th place (plus ties) will qualify to compete for the title. We have had a player who finished as low as 46th in the OOM go on to win The Tour Championship.
This means we will have two separate competitions run on the day - the 25 competing for the Tour Championship and all other players enjoying a fun competition with some great prizes. As with all Tour events, the results will be entered on GOLF Link. The TC is a separate title to the Order of Merit and will be decided by the results over 18 holes of stableford at the Final. Besides qualification, all previous results for the year will not be relevant.
The Tour Championship is last event for the year and includes lunch before golf, free range balls, a meal after golf and our major presentation for the year with the presentation to the Order of Merit and the Tour Championship winners and the other Tour awards for the year. The winner of The TC will receive a new set Srixon Irons. At the Presentation Dinner, awards will be presented to the annual winners of:
The Order of Merit | Club Championships | 4BBB Championship |
The SGA Matchplay | Golfer of the Year | The Tour Championship |
