Bougle Run - Short Course

Designed by internationally acclaimed Golf Architect Bill Coore, Bougle Run’s 14 holes consist of 12 par-3s and two par 4s which sit on the tall, undulating coastal dunes between Lost Farm’s front and back 9. The route, which includes some of the highest points of the entire Barnbougle complex, is set slightly back from the coastline, providing aerial-like views over the Lost Farm Course and Anderson’s Bay. A fun, challenging addition to Barnbougle’s two world top 100 courses, Bougle Run is designed for golfers of all abilities and the perfect option to sate your golf appetite in just 90 minutes.

The Lost Farm

Ranked as the #2 public course in Australia, and #23 in the World, The Lost Farm is remarkably different to it's older "brother" course. Featuring 20 holes that wind along the coast and through the coastal dunes, The Lost Farm course is a slightly more "open" layout that offers an exciting challenge for golfers of all levels.

LOST FARM LODGE

Stay on-site at Barnbougle and enjoy the stunning views of the Lost Farm course and surrounding coastline and hinterland. The Lost Farm Lodge provides a stylish accommodation option for those looking to wake up right on course, with each suite only a short stroll to the Lodge Restaurant, Spa, Clubhouse and first tee. Lost Farm Lodge offers two types of luxury accommodation – Single and Double Queen Suites. These open plan, hotel-style rooms provide a choice of views, looking out across Anderson Bay and the Lost Farm Golf Course.

Notes re: Air Travel to Barnbougle / Tasmania

Commercial flights from around Australia fly in to Launceston, which is a one-hour drive from Barnbougle. Car hire is available at the airport and there is a bus that regularly transfers golfers from Launceston airport to Barnbougle Dunes. There are Travel Directions and Airport Transfers pages with info on the Barnbougle website.

When booking commercial flights:

Note that the drive from Launceston Airport to Barnbougle Dunes is a solid 90 minutes. Book your inbound flights accordingly (the night before is generally your best option).
We recommend booking your return flight (Sunday) for after 5pm, to allow for golf, presentations and transfer back to Launceston.

NOTES RE CAR HIRE

If you are planning to hire a car in Launceston, we HIGHLY recommend you book it WELL IN ADVANCE, as there is a shortage of hire cars in the area. It is also much cheaper the earlier you book.

Event Format

The Tasman Classic features a Stableford format over the three rounds of the event with an Order of Merit points system, where, each day, player's scores are ranked from first to last. The points for the three rounds are totalled, and the player(s) with the greatest points are declared the winners.

Prizes are awarded to the A, B and C-Grade winners. (Depending on field size)
